Bálint Vécsei started the rout in the third minute when he beat Márkó Kolozsvári in the Ferencváros goal. The goal visibly drained Fradi and Honvéd's pressure continued; János Fejes shot over and wide but in the 21st minute he made no mistake with a beautiful free-kick. The victory over Milan had clearly taken a lot out of the players and physically and mentally the red and blacks of Honvéd looked much fresher throughout the match. Only several Gergely Gyürki deep free-kicks from the wings looked dangerous and otherwise Fradi were not much of a threat.
At the break head coach Béla Dukon replaced Roland Nagy with Máté Vad but Fradi were no different and soon Gyürki, the green and whites' only threat, also picked up an injury. Honvéd went close again through Gergő Nagy on the counter-attack but Kolozsvári did well to parry his effort. Valér Kapacina then extended Honvéd's lead and soon after that conspired with László Erdélyi to create the move of the game, the former collecting the latter's pass and lifting the ball into the top corner of the net.
The chances for Honvéd kept coming and while Kolozsvári denied Nikola Pantovic with a similar chance he culd not stop Péter Horváth firing the ball into the top corner from 28 metres in the 74th minute. Only at five goals down did Fradi produce anything of note, Máté Halápi slipping the ball past Norbert Szemerédi in the Honvéd goal after a left-wing move.
Honvéd therefore lie in an excellent position in Group B with Milan needing a victory by four clear goals to progress to Monday's 2010 PUSKÁS-SUZUKI CUP Final.
