István Mitring as well as Viktor Orbán, founder of the Puskás Academy, were both in the Academy Old Boys lineup but it another former Felcsút SE goalgetter, Gábor Földes, who did the damage in the first semi-final, netting twice against the team of journalists.

In the other semi-final a younger, fresher Suzuki Hungary team raced into a three-goal lead but despite a comeback from Vidi Old Boys they could not find an equaliser. In the 3rd and 4th place play-off Kriztián Tiber scored a hattrick and Géza Wittmann one goal as they secured a 4-3 victory over the journalists, for whom Kristóf Kemény scored two and Sport Television reporter András Petúr one. It was then Vincze's turn to give the Puskás Academy the win in the Final.
