We'll start with the star Hungarian referees! Viktor Kassai, the referee of the 2010 PUSKÁS-SUZUKI CUP and the final of the 2009 edition, together with his equally capable team of assistants Gábor Erős and Tibor Vámos, received appointments this time as well. We still must wait to see exactly which matches these officials, who oversaw one of the 2010 FIFA World Cup semi-finals, take charge of because their schedule still depends on UEFA. The world-famous refereeing trio will be allocated a match in the Champions League or Europa League next week so for these three nothing can be confirmed before this is known. The rest, however, have confirmed their availability.
The opening match between Videoton Puskás Akadémia and Ferencváros will be led by Mihály Fábián after which Sándor Andó-Szabó will officiate the Hagi Academia's contest with Budapest Honvéd.
On Saturday Tamás Bognár will take charge of Honvéd's clash with Panathinaikos before Andó-Szabó referees the Videoton Puskás Academy's much-awaited fixture with Real Madrid.
Sunday sees Zsolt Szabó oversee Ferencváros against Real Madrid and István Vad II referee the final match of the group stages between the Hagi Academy and Panathinaikos.
The two semi-finals of the Old Boys tournament on Monday, meanwhile, will be refereed by Attila Ábrahám and Béla Kiss with the 3rd/4th placed play-off being the responsibility of Dezső Nyekitő and the final being under the direction of Attila Hanacsek.
