PSC: Club owner believes the current Honvéd U17 team is very strong

Hemingway awaits the title

22nd April 2011.

"There are extremely creative footballers at the Hungarian Football Academy and this was clear for all to see in the many talents which made up last year's PUSKÁS-SUZUKI CUP-winning team. This year our U17 group is again strong and therefore it is not unreasonable to state that I will only be satisfied  with a tournament victory", George F. Hemingway, the Honvéd club owner said to Puskás TV at Thursday evening's tournament opening dinner at the Puskás Pancho Sport Pub in Budapest.

Hemingway went on to state that in the summer at least six players educated at their own academy could be part of the adult first team squad. The real fruits of success would come in 5-6 years' time when the current Under 17 generation will be in their early twenties and they will constitute at least half of the NBI team's squad of players.

The Honvéd owner emphasised that Hungarian football is progressing positively, in no small part thanks to the plans to aid youth education of Viktor Orbán, Hungary's Prime Minister and founder of the Puskás Academy. Hemingway is sure that "the children of today are going to bring an awful lot to football in Hungary". First up is for Honvéd's current U17 to defend their PUSKÁS-SUZUKI CUP title. We shall see...!
