Since winning the tournament on debut in 2009 Ferencváros have finished 4th and now 5th but it looked like they would end up 6th and last in this edition after Hagi Academy captain Boban Nikolov gave his team the lead with their first attack after 20 minutes, shooting past Rácz from 14 metres.
There was no change in the scoreline before the break but Fradi stepped up their game thereafter and went close through Patrik Csanálosi's free-kick which Hintascu did well to turn behind for a corner. Soon after, Fradi found the equaliser they'd been searching for when Vincz Erdei headed a half-cleared corner back into the box and Krisztián Kárász nodded the ball into the net. Although Fradi dominated the rest of the game, the Hagi Academy counter-attacked to some effect and Rácz did well to avoid conceding a second goal when he saved from Catalin Farin.
In the penalty shootout that followed this 1-1 draw Olivér Schön, Vince Erdei, Ákos Horváth and Máté Girán all scored for Ferencváros and Adrian Boitos converted for the Hagi Academy but Rácz's saves from Alexandru Tirnovan and Farin meant that The green and whites prevailed in the end and fished 5th in this year's PUSKÁS-SUZUKI CUP with the Hagi Academy finishing 6th and last in their debut appearance in the competition.
