Greek striker is goalking and Honvéd's Hernádi scoops goalkeeper award

Real Madrid's Bristol crowned Player of the Tournament

25th April 2011.

Real Madrid CF captain Cristian Benavente Bristol was declared Player of the Tournament at the PUSKÁ-SUZUKI CUP's post-match awards ceremony in the Sóstoi Stadion in Székesfehérvár today. Panathinaikos forward Nikolaos-Iakovos Giannitsanis was the tournament's top goalscorer with three goals and tournament winners Budapest Honvéd had an individual award to celebrate too, István Hernádi being confirmed as Goalkeeper of the Tournament. All three win state-of-the-art iPhone 4 handsets.

Bristol was always in the running after two impressive performances in the group stages but his early free-kick in the final which opened the scoring propelled him into pole position and his neat play in midfield was clearly key to every positive movement Real made. Giannitsanis went into the final matchday on three goals but failed to add to his tally - his luck was that none of his rivals one goal behind him scored either! Hernádi was a clear choice for best goalkeeper after near-faultless performances in all three of Honvéd's match in the competition.
