The tournament
The PUSKÁS-SUZUKI CUP is an international youth football tournament jointly founded by the Ferenc Puskás Football Academy in Felcsút and the Magyar Suzuki Corporation in 2008. The aim of the founders is to establish a club tournament which offers the opportunity for talented young footballers to measure themselves internationally at the U-17 age level and, to establish a fitting memorial to Ferenc Puskás. It is the aim of the founders to hold the tournament annually with an increasing and changing field of participants, but without ever forgetting those clubs which played an important role in the career of Ferenc Puskás. In the inaugural year it is those clubs at which the legendary number 10 achieved his greatest successes, and to which he was most spiritually attached, who received invitations.
